Corso di Improvvisazione
The course is mainly practical and is aimed at accomplished instrumentalists, singers and composers (ideally also instrumentalists) interested in this aspect of composition. Improvisation is understood both as free jazz and as free composition in real time, but also through the performance of improvisatory and intuitive scores that fall outside the usual notion of traditional notation — using symbols, graphics, texts or suggestions that do not belong to conventional musical symbolism and that call for specialised, creative performers who become almost co-authors. It is research into creativity and imagination, as a soloist and in relation to other performers, pursued with awareness and professionalism.Una prospettiva fuori dalle convenzioni - l’esecutore creativo, l’improvvisazione come composizione in tempo reale, l’instant form.
In particular
Free improvisation; improvisation with aleatoric elements and indicative graphics; improvisation on electronic and concrete material.
Works by John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Cornelius Cardew, Sylvano Bussotti, Roman Haubenstock-Ramati, Earle Brown, Dieter Schnebel and more recent composers will be studied.
The course ends with a public concert given by the participants.
