The university school of music
The Scuola universitaria di Musica (SUM) trains the musicians of the future and is the most international department of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, with students from 40 different countries.
How to apply
To apply for the Master of Advanced Studies SUPSI (MAS SUPSI) run jointly with the Scuola universitaria di Musica of the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, candidates must submit an application for admission to the International Academy of Music and Arts, using the form “Domanda ammissione MAS SUPSI”.
Il Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Music Performance and Interpretation is a professional development master’s (a post-graduate course) for musicians who wish to deepen their knowledge of the repertoire, or to build on their previous training through the study of various aspects of performance practice. The course is also open to established chamber ensembles.
Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires:
• a qualification in music (Bachelor, Master or equivalent);
• assessment of the pre-application dossier;
• passing an entrance examination consisting of theperformance of a programme of about 30 minutes made up of at least two of the most representative works in the repertoire of the candidate’s instrument. Alternatively, candidates may send a link to a recent video recording of high quality, showing the same programme performed live and without breaks;
• passing an aptitude interview.
