From Reading to Music
Literary and musical Braille: a two-stage training course for support workers, teachers and people who are blind or partially sighted.
Music is a universal language, but to be truly open to everyone it needs tools that allow it to be read and studied by those who cannot see. “From Reading to Music” was created with this aim: to give people who are blind or partially sighted, and those who support them, a structured method for learning first literary Braille and then the Braille music code, opening the way to studying and playing music independently. It is a project of practical inclusion, combining Aimart’s teaching expertise with DIAMART’s commitment to cultural accessibility, so that musical education becomes a right genuinely available to all.
Two stages of training
Learning literary Braille
The first stage introduces the basics of the Braille system for reading and writing — the essential foundation for tackling musical notation later on.
The Braille music code
The second stage applies Braille to musical notation, giving students the means to read and study music on their own.
