Hyo Soon Lee
Born in Hongseong (South Korea) in 1971, she took her degree in voice at Chungnam National University in Daejeon.

She then moved to Italy, where she studied with the soprano Maria Luisa Carboni, under whose guidance she took her voice diploma in 1999 with top marks, distinction and honourable mention at the “L. D’Annunzio” State Conservatoire in Pescara.


Si è in seguito trasferita in Italy, dove si è perfezionata con il soprano Maria Luisa Carboni, sotto la cui guida si è diplomata in canto, nel 1999, con il massimo dei voti, la lode e la menzione d’onore, presso il Conservatorio Statale di Musica “L. D’Annunzio” di Pescara.

She subsequently took a diploma in
“voice teaching”
at the “A. Boito” State Conservatoire in Parma. In 1999 she was also awarded the

“Fellowship Diploma” in vocal chamber music at the National College of Music in London. In 2007 she took, with top marks and distinction, the second-level diploma in “Music, science and sound technology” at the “Scientia et Ars” International Politecnico in Vibo Valentia. in Musica Vocale da Camera presso il “National College of Music” di London. Nel 2007 ha ottenuto, con il massimo dei voti e la lode, il Diploma di II livello in “Musica, scienza e tecnologia del suono” presso il Politecnico Internazionale “Scientia et Ars” di Vibo Valentia.

In October 2000
she won the fourth “Città di Subiaco” International Contemporary Music Competition
. In November 2000 she won

third prize (ex aequo) at the “F. Cilea” International Singing Competition in Reggio Calabria.. Nel novembre 2000 ha vinto il 3° premio (ex-aequo) nel Concorso Internazionale di Canto “F. Cilea” di Reggio Calabria.

In May 1998 she made her debut in Milan in Giorgio Gaslini’s opera “Malcolm X”, conducted by the composer. Since then she has pursued a successful and
busy career in concert and opera
that has taken her to many

theatres and concert halls(Auditorium Conciliazione in Rome, Teatro Rendano in Cosenza, King’s College Cambridge, the “Ebb & Flow Arts” contemporary music festival in Maui, Hawaii, and others). che l’ha portata ad esibirsi in molti teatri e sale da concerto (Auditorium Conciliazione di Rome, Teatro Rendano di Cosenza, King’s College di Cambridge [Inghilterra], Festival di Musica Contemporanea “Ebb & Flow Arts” di Maui [Hawaii], ecc.).

Alongside performing she pursues a busy teaching career.
She teaches voice at the “Alfredo Casella” State Conservatoire in L’Aquila and at the “Scientia et Ars” International Politecnico, Rome campus; she also teaches on the advanced singing courses organised by EPTA Italy in Rome.

All’attività concertistica affianca anche un’intensa attività didattica.

E' docente di canto presso il Conservatorio Statale di Musica “Alfredo Casella“ di L’Aquila e presso il Politecnico Internazionale “Scientia et Ars”, nel polo didattico di Roma; inoltre è professoressa nei corsi di perfezionamento in canto organizzati dall’ “E.P.T.A.- Italy” a Rome.
