Laura Manzini came to public attention at a very early age and took her diploma with distinction and honourable mention at the “S. Cecilia” Conservatoire in Rome under Sergio Cafaro.

Rivelatasi giovanissima al grande pubblico, Laura Manzini si diploma con lode e menzione d’onore presso il Conservatorio “S. Cecilia” di Roma, sotto la guida di Sergio Cafaro.

Biography
She went on to study with Bruno Canino and attended courses with Alexander Lonquich and György Sándor; for chamber music she studied with Riccardo Brengola at the

Accademia Chigiana in Siena

and with the Trio di Trieste at the

Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. At the age of eight she won her first competition, followed by otherimportant prizes and awards that soon led to a busy concert career across Europe, Asia and America , appearing at leading venues (“Teatro alla Scala” in Milan, “Auditorium Parco della Musica” in Rome, Teatro della Pergola in Florence, Accademia Chigiana in Siena, “Teatro Comunale” in Bologna, “Teatro Petruzzelli” in Bari, the Musikhalle in Hamburg, the Cité de la Musique in Paris, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Beijing Century Theatre, the Teatro Coliseo in Buenos Aires and others), and playing with prestigious orchestras such as I Virtuosi di Santa Cecilia, the Orchestra da Camera Italiana and the Virtuosi of the Berlin Philharmonic. At one concert she was heard bySalvatore Accardo , who invited her to perform in duo at the Quirinal Palace on a very special occasion:a concert in honour of Mikhail Gorbachev during the Soviet leader’s first official visit to Italy. So began a long partnership with the celebrated violinist that has taken her on tours worldwide and produced numerous CDs., durante la prima visita ufficiale del premier russo in Italy. Inizia così un’intensa collaborazione col celebre violinista che la porta ad effettuare tournées in tutto il mondo, incidendo anche numerosi CD.

Her
great love of chamber music
has also led her to work with other well-known performers such as Gary Hoffman, Franco Petracchi, Pamela Frank, Rocco Filippini, Bruno Canino and Mariusz Patyra, appearing at major chamber festivals including the Verbier Festival, the Tuscan Sun Festival and the Bremen International Festival, and taking part in complete performances of the chamber music of Schumann and Mendelssohn for

major concert seasons . The same desire to share music has led to collaborations with artists from other fields, such as the actors Maddalena Crippa, Milena Vukotic, Sonia Bergamasco and Luca Zingaretti and the choreographer Antonella Agati. In 2005, with her colleagues and friends Laura Gorna (violin) andCecilia Radic (cello) , she founded Estrio , regarded as one of thefinest Italian chamber ensembles and a guest of the main concert seasons., considerato tra le migliori formazioni cameristiche italiane, ospite delle principali stagioni concertistiche.

Placed first in the national teaching competition, in 1994 she was appointed to teach chamber music at the “Ottorino Respighi” State Conservatoire in Latina, where she still teaches.
She has recorded various television programmes for RAI and numerous radio programmes for RAI, Vatican Radio and German radio. She has recorded for Decca, Foné, Warner Fonit and Dynamic.

Come prima classificata al concorso nazionale a cattedre, ottiene nel ’94 la docenza di Musica da Camera presso il Conservatorio statale di musica “Ottorino Respighi” di Latina, dove tutt’ora insegna.

Ha registrato vari programmi televisivi per la Rai e numerosi programmi radiofonici per la Rai, la Radio Vaticana e la Radio tedesca. Ha inciso per Decca, Fonè, Warner Fonit e Dynamic.
