Winner of the As.Li.Co. competition
in Milan in 1993 and of the 35th International Competition for Verdi Voices in 1995,

world finalist of the Pavarotti International Voice Competition 1995 . She took her voice diploma under Maestro Celso and her piano diploma with Vera Pulvirenti, and also holds the second-level academic diploma from the Politecnico in Vibo Valentia in “Music, science and sound technology” . She studied at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena with Carlo Bergonzi and in Milan with Renata Scotto, Leyla Gencer and Franca Mattiucci.She has sung Azucena at the Bregenzer Festspieleunder Fabio Luisi in Robert Carsen’s production, at the

Deutsche Oper in Berlin under Renato Palumbo, at the Opernfestspiele in Heidenheim , at Connecticut Opera in Hartford, at the Mannheim theatre and at the open-air festival in Gars. She has sung Amneris many times: at Connecticut Opera, at the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid under Frühbeck de Burgos, in Portsmouth, Virginia, at the Opernfestspiele in Heidenheim (where she was also an acclaimed Eboli in“Don Carlo” , revived at the Politeama in Lecce), in two events —“Aida in Flammen” in Königstein (Frankfurt) and in Rohrdorf (Munich) — in Caserta, and at the opening of the 2015 season at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari under Maurizio Allemandi. Her repertoire is wide, rangingfrom opera to sacred music and on to contemporary and chamber music dall’Opera alla Musica Sacra She has created many roles, among them Ulrica in “Un ballo in maschera”at Florida Grand Opera in Miami, at the “Teatro Regio” in Parma, at the PalaFenice in Venice, at the Opéra-Théâtre de Metz and at the Teatro Colón in Bogotá; Frugola in

“Il tabarro” in Milan under Riccardo Chailly; Fidalma in “Il matrimonio segreto” at Zurich Opera; Ortrud in “Lohengrin” at the “Teatro Regio” in Parma and the “Teatro Comunale” in Piacenza; and a much-admired Santuzza at the Teatro Bellini in Catania and at the Spiros Argiris Festival in Sarzana. She has also sung Margarita in “I quattro rusteghi” at the Teatro Donizetti, Beppe in “L’amico Fritz” at the Teatro Coccia in Novara, the Witch in

She has also appeared on the

of the “Teatro San Carlo” in Naples, the Met, the “Teatro Comunale” in Bologna, the Fraschini in Pavia, the Sociale in Como, the Comunale in Cagliari, the Verdi in Trieste, the “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” and Tenerife. She has worked with Bergonzi, Panerai, Manca di Nissa, Banaudi, Licitra, Ballo, Aronica, Cedolins, Colombara, Ricciarelli and Nucci, and has sung under

distinguished conductors such as Oren, Bartoletti, Campanella, Campori, Chailly, Temirkanov, Luisi, Frühbeck de Burgos, Palumbo and De Bernart, and directors such as Carsen, Mariani, Dall’Aglio, Marini, Miller, Puggelli, Arruga and Stinchelli. She created the role of the Princess in Suor Angelica at the Varese Estense Festival in 2018. For Pantheon she has recorded Verdi’s Messa da Requiem with the symphony orchestra of the “Arturo Toscanini” foundation under Maestro Gandolfi and the chorus of the “Teatro Regio” in Parma; Falstaff as Mistress Quickly, live from the theatre in Lecce, for Kicco Classic; Aida as Amneris for Premiere Opera; Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta for Opera Lovers; and the DVD of Hänsel und Gretel for Universal Music Italy Jolanta di Cajkovskij She has appeared in numerous performances of Verdi’s Requiem. She has sung

Berio’s Folk Songs with Ensemble 900 at the Auditorium Monteverdi in Mantua andPalmeri’s Misa a Buenos Aires with the composer himself at the piano. She has given several performances of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. She has been interviewed several times on RSI Rete 2 (Switzerland) by G. Appolonia on the programme “Il ridotto dell’Opera” . She gives concerts widely in Italy and abroad (Spain, Germany, Austria, China). She wrote and performed the interdisciplinary show “Ritratto di donna” in Calabria, Campania and in Milan for the Amici del Loggione of “Teatro alla Scala”. She has taught singing at theconservatoires of Vibo Valentia, Salerno, Novara, Como and Piacenza and currently teaches at the “G. Verdi” Conservatoire in Milan . She gives masterclasses in Italy, Korea (Sunhwa Arts High School, Seoul) and Andalusia (Conservatorio Superior de Música de Málaga).. Ha tenuto due laboratori “Leoncavallo in brief: from the sacred to the profane. Listening to yourself in order to express! The relationship between music and poetry in Leoncavallo’s work”;

2017 “Debussy’s L’Enfant prodigue”.

In 2019 she founded the Associazione Salotto d’Arte and created the series



“Domenica in salotto”, six monthly events in the mezzo-soprano’s own drawing room, in the role of a modern patron. After the concert there is conversation, tea and cakes. During the first Covid lockdown the Salotto moved to Instagram with three hour-long live broadcasts a week, featuring young talents and a leading figure from the world of music and theatre . During the pandemic she devoted herself particularly to chamber music, recording the CD “Canta Germoglia ed Ama” , which pairs great poetry with music of the early twentieth century; the CD“Lasciati amar” , melodies by Ruggero Leoncavallo; the CD “Salotto Siciliano” , Sicilian songs between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, for which she also carried out the bibliographical research; the “Christmas songs of the Sicilian tradition” ; the complete Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, W389; and several classics such as “Send in the Clowns” and “Estrellita”, for the Kicco Music label, on all platforms and online stores. In July 2021 she took part as performer and speaker in the seminar “In Limine” : salon romances, art songs and other compositional metamorphoses, organised by the Avellino Conservatoire under the patronage of the Istituto Tostiano. She was acclaimed as Santuzza at the Festival dei Teatri di Pietra, at the Bellini in Catania after 30 years, at the Greek Theatre in Tindari and at the Greek Theatre in Syracuse. At thePiacenza Musica festival she gave a concert in homage to Caruso entitled “Qui dove il mare luccica” , and later sang the Princess in Suor Angelica and Zita in Gianni Schicchi at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi. si è esibita in un concerto omaggio a Caruso intitolato “Qui dove il mare luccica” e successivamente al Teatro Degli Arcimboldi La zia Principessa nella Suora Angelica e la Zita nel Gianni Schicchi di Puccini.
